TOMIC and magnolia-licious challenge

i made the cutest little card today!  :)  The Official Magnolia Inspiration Challenge  is to make a fruity pocket, and i have some adorable little vintage strawberry fabric that i took to staples and colored copied, and i thought this would be the perfect oppertunity to use it! :) and magnolia-licious  has a wonderful picture for their color inspiration i love the berry tones in this and the green! :)

so using these two components i made the following card and im entering it in both challenges :)

i love the way this card turned out!  i used my copies for the background and just plain colored cardstock for the mats and die cut outs.  i used the large spellbinders beaded circle die that i inked with Martha stewart's spray rose pink stamp pad, and inked a magnolia doohicky with brown, and added a circle of origami paper behind tilda and edges the whole circle with some white lace that i inked wit tim holtz peeled paint destress stain.  i added a flourish that is inked with the peeled paint and spun sugar to created a tie died effect, add some small pink i am roses, and some large silk roses that i got from hobby lobby, added a tag that i embellished with lace fabric and a sentiment from fisker's, and some stamped paper roses inked onto crackled paper.

here' a close up of the tag,
here's the flower corner, i forgot that i added some pearls from say it in pearls too.
and little strawberry tilda herself! :) she's so cute! :)

the pocket is on the inside, i thought it would be a great place to add a photo, invitation, gift card, long letter or whatever.  just to make it a bit different on the inside.

thanks for stopping by!

just magnolia/tilda town challenge

i created a card for the just magnolia as well as the tilda town challenge.  they had a really great sketch to use and this is what i made using that cute sketch

i used the tilda catching stars stamp,  various loose scraps, the magnolia doohicky lace tag, a butterfly from recollections, flowers from i am roses and silk yellow roses from hobby lobby,.

here's a close up of tilda.  the no lines technique is inspired from zoe's magnolia cards.

thanks for stopping bye! i hope you enjoyed this one! :)

i recently made a card to enter the Crafting Life's Pieces they had the cuties sketch to base your card design on and the challenge is open for a whole month! :)

magnnolia offical inspiration callenge

hello this is my submission for the official magnolia inspiration challenge :) here's what it looks like
i used the miss mumu cow stamp! it's a birthday card for my brother using the challenge layout (kill two birds with one stone) :)

here's a close up of the little miss mumu, i tried to use a lot of plaids and mke it really boyish.   i mainly used webster's pages on this one, and a my minds eye plaid.  he turned out really nice :)

tilda town challenge

ive recently come across the blag named zoe's magnolia cards where she colors tilda to have no black lines.   this card turned out so nice that im going to enter it in the 1th Tilda town challenge the result is a very soft natural looking tilda.  she doesn't have an official tutorial but she does give the jist of it.  so i had to try my hand at and this is what i came up with! :)

she turned out sooo pretty!  im not quite that great at dong the shading just yet but it's still my first one :)

here's a close up of the little lady.  when i stamped her i tried to use a very light brown, (zoe explains that she uses blue but i didn't have any light blue)  then i colored her with my copics and went over  that with coordinating prismacolor art pencils and tried to soften anywhere that the light brown outlines from the stamping still appeared.  then went over the whole thing with a Fine paint brush and turpinoid to even the pencil makers and smooth it out.

i really enjoy making her, and zoe's work is really inspiring!  and i think with a little more practice i think i can do just as well as she.  :)

tilda catching stars

i just got the magnolia stamp tilda catching stars a couple of days ago, and i just LOVE her!! she reminds me of one of the little twin stars from sanrio. this is my all time favorite tilda! and im entering this card into the tilda's town challenge #8 ... favorite tilda! this is the card that i was inspired to make with her.  i hope i win! :)

it turned out so pretty! i love yellow, so i tried to use plenty of it but not make it over bearing, and i chose purple because its nice and dreamy.  i didn't really use and paper packs on this i mainly used plain card stock in light yellow, white, and lavender.  the only patterned paper that i used was origami paper from paperjade i love this place :) and a very small circle of webster's pages from the In Love/Palm Beach/Game On 6X6 Paperpad.

here's a close up of tilda, she's soooo cute! :) i used pale lavender and cream cherry blossoms from i am roses and added rhinestones, stamped and glittered stars, and cream lace distressed with wild honey tim holtz ink dobber.

thanks for stopping by! i hope you enjoyed this project! :)

pixie dust

yesterday i stumbled upon the pixie dust studio and fell in love with their character wink. he's sooo cute!  here's the card i created using the moonbeams wink digi

for the background and die cute i used portobello road from the lost and found collection from my minds eye.  the gingham label behind the sentiment is from paper wishes.

here's a close up of wink.  i colored him using my new tim holtz distress markers and going over it with prismacolor art pencils and using turpinoid  on a q-tip to smooth the the pencil marks.

 one more cute picture :)

i also got the magnolia tilda catching stars she's so super cute! she's reminds me of a tilda twin star almost :) i'm finishing up that project and will soon post the picture! :)

here's a close up of the bear from penny black.  i took a ball from a vintage paper doll collection that i had, and some thistle from an old children's book illustration.

mother's day box

ive made one more thing for my mother on mothers day, we decided that we would cover some paper mache boxes and fill them with stuff.
this is what i came up with.  theres a large plastic rose in the middle and fabric and crystal like beaded flowers all around the large one.

here's a better look at the top.

here's a close up of some of the rose and crystal sprays theres also feathers under some of the sprays to soften the look of the box, and make it seem more romantic.

i cant wait to give these to my mom on mothers day :)  ive worked so hard on her gifts and i know shes going to love them :)

mother's day cards

After being so inspired I've finally made a mothers day card for my own mom. She loves anything blue, white, Tilda, and scanivanian with tulips of course

here's  a close up of the cutie tilda holding a bouquet of tulips

and a close up of the bow, i used plan white seam binding and colored it with tim holtz broken china and thought it was to blue, so i put in the last bit of my coffee to distress it a bit.

i also covered a candle for her using a wee stamp from whimsy stamps

heres a close up of the stamp

and what it looks like from the side.

mother's day cards

mothers day cards!

i also entered these on the whimsy challenge blog.  whimsy stamps are one of my favorite companies :)

ive been so inspired here lately, and ive made some really great mothers day cards.  i hope you like them and they inspire you as well!

this is my first one that i made, its an envelope card and the die cut in the middle pulls out and thats where you write your note.  the stamp is a wee digi stamp, from whimsy stamps.

this is the next one that i made i was inspired after going to hobby lobby and seeing some of the beautiful white bird houses that they and i used the two birds digi from wee stamps.  this is an easel card and i just added a triangle for the roof and plenty of embellishments.

heres the next one i did.  i used another wee stamp digi, i didn't like the patches on her pants so i transferred the design and also took out so many of the fly away designs that were on it too.
i added lace that i inked in between the die and middle circle.  as well as inking the beaded spellbinders die with Martha Stewart pink rose spray stamp pad.
i added rolled ribbon roses, as well as some stamped doodle roses.

this card i wanted it to look like a vintage quilt.  i added quarter square triangles under the beaded spellbinders dies,  and put half circle in the middle of the dies.

here the card is open and you can really see the effect of the pieces.  lots of inking adds to the vintage feel of this card.  and plenty of miss matching patterns for a "make do" look.

this is a digi stamp from milk and coffee.

this is one of my favorites!  this is another stamp from wee stamps.  the large heart is also a stamp that i got from a crafting garage sale at my local stamp store.  this pink rose frame is vintage wrapping paper.
the sheet of music paper is inked on the outside with pink, and i used my BG10 copic marker on the inside of the rose frame and dry brushed white on the inside of the frame to soften the black music notes.

after softening the music notes, the beautiful little girl really stands out
